Having no database experience at all, this books was a great place to start. I can now set up tables, foreign keys and a relational database in MYSQL. The only draw back in the book was the existence of numerous typos. For example, there are missing letters and mis-typed words (nome instead of name, or ths instead of this). I only paid $1.99 for the books, so I guess I can expect some typos. Overall a great place to start.

For the most part, this is a good, but very basic, introduction to SQL generally, and MySQL in particular. My two big complaints are the need for better editing of the text and better resolution on the figures.
I DO NOT GIVE THIS PURCHASE A ZERO BECAUSE AMAZON DOES NOT GIVE ME AN OPTION TO GIVE IT A ZERO. BUT BELIEVE ME, THIS IS A PIECE OF GRAB. UN-ACCEPTABLE. NOT THE BOOK, BUT THE FORMAT IN WHICH IS PRESENTED IN MY IPAD. THE QUALITY OF THE IMAGES ARE AWFUL. THE FORMAT IS AWFUL. I AM VERY, VERY DISSAPOINTED IN THE FORMAT AMAZON KINDLE FOR THE IPAD PRESENTS THIS BOOK. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY. I DON'T KNOW THE WORDS TO USE TO DESCRIBE MY DISSAPOINTEMENT. I AM WRITTING ALL THIS IN CAPITAL LETTERS TO EXPRESS MY DEEP, DEEP, DISAPPOINTMENT. EXCUSE ANY MISPELLING.
